Firm History
CME, Inc was organized in 1968 as Coupland-Moran Engineers, Inc. by Jim Coupland and Bob Moran. The mechanical and electrical engineering work performed by CME in the first decades consisted of educational facilities, facilities at Sandia Base (now Kirtland AFB), Cannon Air Force Base, Holloman Air Force Base, White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), and other commercial and industrial projects.  In 1980 CME acquired the firm of Randal and True in El Paso, Texas.  Bob Moran operated this firm for twelve years until it was sold in 1992 to RBM Engineering.  In 1995, CME merged with Smith Engineering to become one of the major all discipline engineering firms in New Mexico.  During that period the mechanical-electrical department provided services to most Architectural firms in New Mexico.  In 2001 it was decided by the principals that the separation of the mechanical, electrical and structural departments into a separate entity from the civil engineering group would better serve the community and the clients.  By 2006 CME had returned to its original Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Firm.  In 2008 CME also returned to the original name of "Coupland-Moran Engineering, Inc."
